Welcome to Sugar Mill Association, Inc. (SMA)
Sugar Mill Association, Inc. (SMA) is a homeowners’ association within the Sugar Mill Country Club & Estates community. Established in 1974 and incorporated as a Florida not-for-profit corporation in 1980, SMA serves as the governing body of our community, working to preserve the values and character that define Sugar Mill. We oversee community standards, maintain essential records and common property, and manage the processes that keep our neighborhood functioning well.
Membership in SMA is pursuant to language in your deed. If your parcel is included in SMA, all parcel owners are members of SMA. There are parcels within our community that are not in SMA. They are predominantly on Clubhouse Boulevard from the east gate to the junction with Sweet Bay Avenue and partly along Sweet Bay Avenue from that junction. These parcels are not subject to the restrictions and benefits of our association.
Our responsibilities and operations are defined by:
- Bylaws outlining how the association is structured and governed, including board elections, roles and responsibilities, and meeting procedures.
- Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs) establishing standards for property ownership, homeowner responsibilities, and shared community expectations.
